My big baby brother turned 4, a little while ago. Yes, I took my time with the photos... they simply couldn't be anything less then perfect!
I remember the day when my mum told me she is expecting a little baby bean. It was just before my 18th birthday, she was dropping little hints while we were talking and I wasn't really grasping what she was trying to tell me. Once I caught on, a million different emotions and thoughts went through my mind: happiness, joy, excitment, worry... even a little jelousy. Along with the realisation that there is going to be this new little person. Stealing all the love and attention. This was the end of me being only child and main occupant of my mums heart - what a CHAOS!
But more than anything else I was just happy and ecstatic.
Growing up as the only child is challenging: You have no one to play with, no one else to teach or learn from. Once you are in trouble there is no one else to blame - just you. I was a lonely little stinker and I always felt there was something missing...
Over 4 years down the line and my gorgeous BIG little brother has hit a big milestone. He's the sweetest, most energetic, happy, loving and charming little man. I can't help but feel a huge responsibility to be the best older sister there can be, to be a good role model and teach him by example, help him explore the world. But I always end up learning so much more from him. I love being silly and playful with him, doing all the jumping, climbing and simple stuff like reading a book for him. He stole my heart.
Thank you Kian, for being my BIG little brother.
